Panthers plan to activate DE Johnson this week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers plan to activate defensive end Charles Johnson from injured reserve on Tuesday.

Coach Ron Rivera said on Monday a final decision hasn't been made on the starting ends for Thursday's Thanksgiving Day game at Dallas.

Johnson, second on the team's all-time sack list, has started every game he's been healthy since the start of the 2010 season. Jared Allen, acquired in a trade with Chicago when Johnson was injured, has started every game he's been healthy since 2005.
