The second set of scheduled Carolina Panthers OTAs took place this week with a few notable returns. While tackle Michael Oher and first-round pick Christian McCaffrey remain unavailable, second-round pick Curtis Samuel made his first appearance.
Samuel joined fellow wide receiver Devin Funchess, who sustained an ankle injury on day two in the Carolina offense. On defense, linebacker Luke Kuechly participated in team drills for the first time this season.
Quarterback Derek Anderson has led the offense during a majority of the team periods as starter Cam Newton continues to rehab following shoulder surgery. According to David Newton of ESPN, Anderson has enjoyed some of the new offensive features despite not having all of his weapons readily available.
