Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that former Panthers OT Jonathan Martin is retiring from the NFL due to a back injury.
Martin, 25, had another year remaining on his four-year, $4,784,267 rookie contract, which includes a $1,042,400 base salary for the 2015 season.
Martin is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2012. He lasted two years in Miami before he left the team due to the bullying situation that resulted in Richie Incognito taking an extended leave from the team.
