Charlotte, N.C. — Carolina Panthers reserve offensive lineman Chris Scott has been suspended four games without pay for violating the National Football League’s performance enhancing drug policy, the team announced Saturday afternoon.
Scott will be eligible to return on Oct. 3, the day after Carolina’s Week Four matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
The former Tennessee Volunteer appeared in 13 regular season games and all three playoff games with the Panthers last year.
Scott, a 2011 fifth-round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has played in 31 games for Carolina with eight starts over the last three seasons.
