Rumors began swirling last night, but the Panthers made it official this morning. Charles Johnson will spend at least one more season as a Carolina Panther.
In a short fan rollercoaster ride of what started with optimism, followed by crippling pessimism after the Giants reportedly offered him a big contract, back to optimism again when rumors started flying last night, Charles Johnson has officially re-signed with the Carolina Panthers. The deal has been reported to be for 1 year at $3 million dollars. This is reportedly half of what the New York Giants offered him, but it would seem that Charles "Smart Money" Johnson wants to stay close to home and bet on himself in pursuit of a career-finishing long term deal, hopefully also with Carolina.
