Panthers' Julius Peppers announces his retirement

Carolina Panthers' defensive end Julius Peppers announced his retirement Friday.

"Only time can reveal what's next, but my time here is up. No regrets, no looking back and nothing left to give," Peppers said in a video message posted by the team.

The 39-year-old was was drafted number-two overall by the Panthers in 2002.

Peppers played ten seasons in Carolina, four with the Chicago Bears and 3 with the Green Bay Packers.

Peppers had 716 tackles, 159.5 sacks with 21 fumble recoveries and 11 interceptions during his 17-year career.
