Panthers' Jonathon Brooks leaves game with noncontact knee injury

Carolina Panthers rookie running back Jonathon Brooks left Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with pain in the right knee that he spent 12 months rehabbing after suffering an ACL injury during his senior season at the University of Texas.

Brooks went down in the first quarter without contact at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. He limped to the sideline and spent time in the medical tent before being carted to the locker room.

He did not return.

Coach Dave Canale said there is pain in the knee and the team plans to do "much more imaging before we can make an explanation on what's happening.
