Panthers fill CB need, trade for Seahawks' Michael Jackson

The Carolina Panthers acquired needed help at cornerback, acquiring veteran Michael Jackson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

In exchange for Jackson, Carolina sent rookie linebacker Michael Barrett to Seattle.

The Panthers were seeking cornerback help after projected starter Dane Jackson sustained a hamstring injury in practice last week, which could sideline him up to six weeks, according to coach Dave Canales.

Jackson started 21 games the past two seasons for the Seahawks, including all 17 games during the 2022 season when he had a career-best 75 tackles and recorded the only interception of his career.
