Last season the Carolina Panthers struggled coming off a Super Bowl appearance just a year prior. Injuries sidelined key players and the reigning league MVP Cam Newton never seemed to put things together as he did in 2015.
Newton took a lot of punishment both in and outside the pocket leading coach Ron Rivera to address an “evolution” of the offense for the upcoming season. However, it was recently revealed that Newton suffered a torn rotator cuff in Week 14, playing three-plus games with the injury.
At the time Carolina was 4-8 leaving fans to question why Newton was out there playing instead of resting, the reason given for such a late date of surgery.
