CHARLOTTE – The Panthers proved how deep they go into the scouting process in their sixth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft, picking Alex Armah with the 192nd overall pick.
The 6-foot-2, 253-pound Armah played college football at West Georgia, a Division II school in Carrollton, Ga.
Armah, who grew up in Gwinnett County, Ga., began his college career at linebacker. Coaches then asked him to play defensive end before they gave him some tight end duties his senior season.
The Panthers drafted the versatile Armah in the hope he'll compete at fullback with Darrel Young and Devon Johnson.
