The Carolina Panthers have been a stable franchise since their inception in 1993 and inaugural 1995 season. Much of that stability has been the result of North Carolina native owner Jerry Richardson and his commitment to the Carolinas, both North and South.
Richardson played college football at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina where the Panthers now participate in training camp. Following he played two seasons in the NFL before becoming a successful businessman in the food-service industry.
Currently not in attendance at the NFL owners meetings taking place in Phoenix this week, Richardson has been a topic of discussion.
