Panthers DE Wes Horton reflects on his three days of unemployment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Wes Horton called it an eerie feeling.

For three days the defensive end was unemployed, having been cut by the Carolina Panthers the morning of Oct. 3 before the team left for Tampa Bay.

He had been told by coaches and others the plan was to re-sign him once he cleared waivers, but he wasn’t sure whether to believe them.
