CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera will make sure he brings his Super Bowl XX ring with him to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, California.
But he won’t wear it.
Rivera seldom wears the ring he won 30 years ago when the Chicago Bears beat the New England Patriots 46-10 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
“I’ve tried to make the point that it represents everything that you’ve gone through and the people that have played," Rivera said. “It’s not necessarily about the ring. It’s the people it stands for.
