The Carolina Panthers made an attempt at bolstering their wide receiver corps by claiming Donte Moncrief off waivers.
Moncrief has been a prime breakout candidate every year since his strong 2015 season, but has failed to deliver at every stop. He played in Jacksonville last season but was made expendable by a cast of rising stars in their wide receivers room. He signed on with Pittsburgh in the offseason, but he didn’t fare any better there.
Moncrief appeared in five games for the Steelers this season, catching four of 15 targets (that’s a 26.
