Carolina Panthers Charities have awarded $250,000 in Hurricane Matthew disaster relief grants to 23 high schools in North and South Carolina. The grants are designed to assist athletic programs in the replacement or repair of equipment, supplies or athletic infrastructure lost or damaged as a result of the catastrophic flooding and wind damage that impacted large portions of both states in October.

In the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, Carolina Panthers Charities gave the region's high school athletic programs the opportunity to apply for grant funding to assist in their recovery efforts. The high schools were approved through a rolling application process, which awarded grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 based on greatest need.
