Sunday’s match up against Washington was a must win game for the Carolina Panthers to keep their bleak playoff hopes alive. Even though the Panthers quickly put up a 14-0 lead at home, things began to implode heading into the second half. The passing game seemed proficient to start off. Kyle Allen completed his first eight passes, including a pair of touchdowns. It would be short lived though as the offensive line allowed three sacks, pressuring Allen into a poor miscued throw – turned interception – to help close the first half. In what would cost head coach Ron Rivera the game, and his job, the decision to limit the run game proved faulty.
