The Panthers decided not to do a blackout look, according to Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer, which fans voted as the greatest uniform combination in league history just two years ago in an NFL.com poll. Carolina could have also gone with its alternate powder-blue jersey over white or silver pants.
The only selection not available was the Panthers’ customary all white that they’ve worn 14 times this year, both at home and on the road, including in their pair of playoff wins in Charlotte.
The Broncos had the first jersey selection as the AFC champion, which is the home team every even year, and chose their road outfits of white on Monday.
