Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers activated cornerback Leonard Johnson from the non-football injury list, the team announced Friday morning. Carolina also placed cornerback Teddy Williams on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Johnson, who signed a one-year deal with Carolina on July 14, has been recovering from Achilles surgery in March.
The five-year veteran was signed by Tampa Bay after going undrafted out of Iowa State in 2012. He recorded 241 tackles, 15 passes defended, six interceptions and four fumble recoveries during his time in Ames, Iowa.
Johnson has tallied 121 tackles, five interceptions and 23 passes defended in four seasons with Tampa Bay and New England.
