Orchard Park, N.Y. - The Carolina Panthers opened the preseason with a thrilling, 25-24 come-from-behind win over the Buffalo Bills.
Rookie running back Brandon Wegher took a dump off pass from quarterback Joe Webb and went 42 yards for a touchdown with 54 seconds left in the game. Then rookie wide receiver Paul Browning caught a two-point conversion pass from Webb to give the Panthers the lead.
"Very excited about the win. It was a great drive by the offense. Joe Webb did a tremendous job. You are talking about a two-minute operation there that was pretty much flawless," assistant head coach Steve Wilks said.
