We’re only 41 days away from the start of the Panthers’ 2021 season, so that means today’s countdown piece is dedicated to No. 41 on the Panthers’ roster — running back Darius Clark.
Every undrafted rookie free agent is a long shot.
Darius Clark may be the longest shot of them all.
Clark played for tiny Newberry College in South Carolina, a Division II liberal arts school of about 1,250 students, where he produced lackluster career stats of just 384 rushing and 264 receiving yards.
Oh, and he played there from 2015 to 2018.
That’s right, the Panthers signed a 25-year-old obscure rookie from an obscure school where he put up the stats of an unimpressive backup.
