We are 81 days away from the beginning of the Carolina Panthers 2018 season. Since there are no current Panthers wearing the No. 81, let’s take a moment to reflect on the career of former Panthers wide receiver Ricky Proehl.
Proehl spent three of his 17 years with the Panthers (2003-2005) and was a key contributor in Super Bowl XXXVIII against the Patriots, scoring a game-tying touchdown with 1:08 left in the 4th quarter. (We won’t discuss what happened next.)
He ended his three years in Carolina with 86 receptions for 1327 yards and eight touchdowns.
