The Carolina Panthers took both players who wore the number 1 for the Maryland Terrapins last season by selecting wide receiver D.J. Moore in the first round and picking up his teammate, linebacker Jermaine “Pee Wee” Carter, in the fifth. While many questioned the need for another linebacker, Thomas Davis’ four game suspension and a constant need on special teams means this late round player could stick.
What he brings
Jermaine Carter saw the field on special teams starting his freshman year where he was a monster on kickoff and punt coverage. He also led the Terrapins in tackles the last three seasons, while being a captain for the last two.
