In case y’all missed it, the Panthers pitched a shutout against the Lions yesterday to improve their 2020 record to 4-7 in a game where they were missing five starters, two of which are arguably the most important players on the team (Teddy Bridgewater and Christian McCaffrey, in case there’s any confusion).
Before we go any further I do want to address any potential “but it was the Lions” criticisms of the Panthers’ win by pointing out that this was just the second time a team was shut out in 2020 (the Dolphins shut out the Jets 24-0 in Week 6), so regardless of who you’re playing it’s impressive if you can hold an NFL team to zero points.
