Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that “nothing is imminent” regarding a new contract for Panthers TE Greg Olsen, despite agent Drew Rosenhaus negotiating with the team for the past month.
Olsen was once considering a hold out in order to secure a contract that would pay him among the top tight ends in the NFL, but he reportedly decided against holding out of training camp.
There was some speculation that the Panthers’ recent decision to fire GM Dave Gettleman could be related to the lack of progress towards new contracts for veteran players including Olsen.
