NFL injury news: Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers undergoes shoulder surgery

Julius Peppers underwent successful shoulder surgery today on the right shoulder he injured in the second half of the 2017 season. The sixteen year veteran played through modest pain, but ultimately was able to tough it out en route to a team high eleven sacks, moving him to fourth in NFL history with 154.5. Per Joe Person, the surgery was to repair a damaged labrum:

It was a labrum repair for Panthers DE Julius Peppers today, per source. Still no word on his plans for 2018 season.

His ability to recovery from this surgery will definitely be a factor in whether he wants to give it a run for one more NFL season.
