Multiple sources broke the news that the Panthers signed defensive tackle Dontari Poe this afternoon. First reported by Kimberley Martin.
The deal is reportedly worth 27 million over 3 years. The former Chief and Falcon was being pursued by Atlanta to re-sign after joining them last season. Looks like he will stay in the NFC South, just not where they had hoped.
Dontari Poe fills a huge need opened up by the departure of Star Lotulelei to Buffalo, and by some early accounts should be an upgrade.
Poe joins a rotation headlined by Kawann Short, who is one of the best pass rushing tackles in the league.
