CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three things you should know about new Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Paul Soliai, who is expected to sign a two-year, $7 million deal on Tuesday:
One big Hog Molly: General manager Dave Gettleman likes his big men (he calls them hog mollies), and at 344 pounds the 6-foot-4 Soliai will be the heaviest player on the roster. He outweighs offensive lineman Chris Scott at 340 pounds and offensive tackle Daryl Williams at 335 pounds. Soliai puts his size to good use as a run-stopper. He will be a part of the four-man rotation behind starters Star Lotulelei (320) and Kawann Short (315).
