Kelvin Benjamin remembers eating 'army packages' after Hurricane Wilma

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin remembers sitting in darkness and hearing winds of more than 100 mph beat against his apartment building in Belle Glade, Florida.

He remembers having to eat what he called "army packages" and not having fresh water.

So Benjamin, 25, knows what the people of Florida are experiencing as Hurricane Matthew batters the East Coast on Friday.

He lived it in 2005 with Hurricane Wilma.
