Julius Peppers accepts new Carolina Panthers role

A former first-round draft pick (No. 2 overall) of the Carolina Panthers, defensive end Julius Peppers enjoyed a Hall of Fame career. For 17 years he tormented opposing quarterbacks becoming fourth all-time in sacks (159.5), including a decade with the Panthers.

The North Carolina native also impacted the communities where he played, spending time in Chicago and Green Bay during his NFL career. Most recently, establishing the Julius Peppers Hurricane Relief Fund for those impacted by Hurricane Florence along the Carolina coast.

Announcing his retirement just this offseason, Peppers stepped away from being on the field but has accepted another job with the Panthers as reported by Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk.
