CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman said the Carolina Panthers lost a leader Thursday when they released veteran defensive end Charles Johnson.
"Charles Johnson was big for us," Norman said on ESPN's NFL Live. "He's one of the captains on the team that we had. Before we go out into our pregame, he was the guy that really broke us down. We was ballin' off of his breakdowns.
"He brought that intensity and fire for us during the pregames and brought out the energy during the game, so he was a vocal leader.
