Jerricho Cotchery returns to Panthers as assistant WR coach

Indianapolis — Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera announced Thursday at the NFL Combine that the team will bring Jerricho Cotchery in as an assistant wide receivers coach.

Cotchery will work under Lance Taylor, who was hired as the team’s wide receivers coach on Feb. 2 after Ricky Proehl resigned from the position in January.

The former N.C. State standout wide receiver recorded 132 catches for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns in two years with the Panthers.

Cotchery was drafted No. 108 overall in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.
