CHARLOTTE – Defensive end Charles Johnson has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers with a hamstring injury. It will be the first game he’s missed this season.
“We’re going to miss Charles. He’s played well all year,” head coach Ron Rivera said. “He really is trying to do everything he can to get back.”
With Johnson out, Kony Ealy and Wes Horton will start at defensive end. But the Panthers might get a boost from the return of defensive end Mario Addison, who missed the last two games with a foot injury.
