To be clear, early reports are saying that Kurt Coleman’s injury is not season injury. He was wearing a knee brace after sustaining what GM Marty Hurney and Ron Rivera described as a sprained knee. Coleman, who was named a team captain this season, will get an MRI tomorrow for a picture of the severity of the injury.
Coleman joined the team in 2014 as a free agent after spending time in Philadelphia and Kansas City. Coleman immediately fit into the system and became a valued member of the Panthers defense. So much so, Carolina hasn’t worked particularly hard to bolster the safety position.
