The Panthers have approximately 15 unrestricted free agents from the 2020 team*, and one of the more important names on that list is wide receiver Curtis Samuel. The 24-year-old Samuel was drafted by the Panthers in the second round (No. 40 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft and has been hot and cold in Carolina until his breakout year in 2020 where he eclipsed the 1,000 yards from scrimmage mark (851 receiving, 200 rushing) for the first time in his career.
Since the decision to re-sign Samuel is a hot-button issue here at Cat Scratch Reader, and since we have a noted Samuel homer (me) and a noted Samuel hater (Jon) on staff at CSR Headquarters, we decided to re-boot the Homer vs Hater series to discuss the pros and cons of re-signing Samuel and keeping him in Carolina.
