For a third consecutive season Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been named the teams representative for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Recognizing the player who excels both on and off the field while making an impact in their local communities, the recognition has been awarded every year since 1970.

One candidate from each of the 32 teams will be honored with representing their community until the pool is narrowed down to three and a winner announced over Super Bowl weekend. Last year, Olsen was a finalist but left empty handed as both Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning tied.
