The Carolina Panthers have needs on both sides of the football, especially along the offensive and defensive lines but receiver is also seemingly an annual issue. After parting ways with franchise great Steve Smith following the 2013 season, Carolina has used two first-round and second-round picks on receivers.
The first two, Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess, didn’t pan out as Benjamin went downhill following a knee injury and Funchess never developed into a prime target. The latter, Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore, are continuing their development and expected to be a big part of the offense next season.
