Spartanburg, S.C. — Tre Boston will face a new task heading into his third season in the National Football League – starting at free safety for the reining NFC Champion Carolina Panthers.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel appeared in all 19 games last season en route to Carolina’s appearance in Super Bowl 50.
For his career, Boston has started in six of his 27 career NFL games. Boston has registered 37 tackles, four passes defended and one interception, which was returned 84 yards for a touchdown in his rookie campaign.
After the departure of former Panthers safety Roman Harper, Kurt Coleman will slide into the strong safety position and Boston will take Coleman’s post at free safety.
