Carolina’s first-round draft pick is set to make his much anticipated NFL debut against the Dolphins. Thompson, who sat out the preseason opener with a hamstring injury, has been gaining ground in the last week. He was getting increased reps with the first team and making plays more frequently toward the end of camp. The hope is that the rookie’s playmaking ability will transfer onto the game field Saturday night.
Alexander and Ealy are in the same boat. Both were expected to produce more in the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills and both were disappointed in their individual performances.
