Chase Winovich is a native of Jefferson Hills, Pa. and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He was a four-star prospect according to Rivals. He committed to Michigan over Florida State, Pitt, and Virginia Tech. Winovich was a four-year letterman for the Wolverines and was well liked by his teammates and coaches as he was awarded the Bo Schembechler MVP team award in 2018. He finished his Michigan career with 45 tackles-for-loss, 18 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
Winovich tested as an above average athlete. He was a 0.6 sigma athlete, which placed him in the 68.
