'Don't Beat Ourselves': Matt Rhule using penalty runs to keep Sam Darnold, Panthers accountable

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- It was the first play of team red zone drills on Wednesday and Carolina Panthers left tackle Cameron Erving moved before the snap. Yellow flags flew. Coaches yelled.

Next came something never seen in a Carolina training camp this year or any since the first in 1995.

The entire starting offense, including star running back Christian McCaffrey and quarterback Sam Darnold, turned and jogged toward the opposite end zone 80 yards away and then past the portable toilets to a tent another 30 yards from that.
