CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers running back Fozzy Whittaker feels helpless seeing images via television and social media of the devastation Hurricane Harvey has done to his hometown of Pearland, Texas, located within the metropolitan Houston area.
“My family fortunately was blessed that water didn’t reach up to the house," Whittaker said after Monday’s practice. “My oldest brother still is without electricity the past two days, but other than that everything has been good.
“My mom and my middle brother, they just had streets flooded. They said the water is starting to come down a little bit now, so everybody is safe and doing as well as they can be at the moment.
