CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bank of America Stadium will be ready to host a Super Bowl in a couple of years, but the Carolina Panthers and the city of Charlotte aren’t ready to bid on one.
Team president Danny Morrison told ESPN.com the Panthers will have the “best outdoor stadium in America" when $87.5 million in renovations are completed in 2018.
But the earliest a bid for a Super Bowl could come would be for the 2022 game, and whether that will happen hasn’t been decided.
The next two Super Bowls will be held in Houston and Minneapolis.
