Christian McCaffrey is on pace to break the Panthers’ all-time record for yards from scrimmage

Christian McCaffrey is on pace to break the Carolina Panthers single-season record for total yards from scrimmage. Through nine games CMC has churned out 1,018 yards (579 rushing, 439 receiving) which averages out to 113.1 yards per contest. If he can keep this pace over a full 16-game season, McCaffrey will produce 1,810 yards from scrimmage which would shatter the Panthers record. Per Football Reference, here are the team’s all-time leaders:

Rank Player Year Yards
Rank Player Year Yards
1 DeAngelo Williams 2008 1,636
2 Stephen Davis 2003 1,603
3 Steve Smith 2005 1,588
4 Steve Smith 2008 1,461
5 Steve Smith 2011 1,450

By exceeding 1,800 yards, McCaffrey wouldn’t only break the Panthers’ single season record, he’d absolutely crush it.
