Charles Johnson's golf tour takes him back to Augusta National

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charles Johnson couldn’t help but notice the laptop screen that was opened to a live stream from Augusta National Golf Club when he entered the media workroom at Bank of America Stadium.

“I’m going tomorrow," the Carolina Panthers defensive end said on Wednesday.

Johnson, 29, was here to talk about his decision to re-sign with the Panthers for next to nothing after they released him to clear $11 million in salary-cap space. He’s excited about the future, noting that he bet on himself when he agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal after at least one other team offered twice that much.
