The Carolina Panthers have gained a small reputation for underperforming in prime time games. That reputation has been earned more on the backs of a few tremendously awful losses more than it has been on a consistent failure under the brightest lights in football. Fair or not, any long term Panthers fan can remember the 2014 Monday Night devastation at the hands of Mark Sanchez and the Philadelphia Eagles (even if they can’t remember that he actually played quarterback for the Eagles) where the fourth quarter of that broadcast spent more time on Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico making banana smoothies than it did on the game.
