The Panthers front office has been active in shoring up several positions of need throughout free agency. This includes inking cornerback Rashaan Melvin to a one-year deal to help bolster a critical position in today’s pass-happy NFL. But as more and more time passes, I continue to wonder why Carolina’s brass hasn’t re-signed Rasul Douglas and let Corn Elder walk into the waiting arms of the Detroit Lions.
The team’s current crop of Panthers corners doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. Donte Jackson has shown flashes of being a legitimate No. 2 corner but he struggles to stay healthy.
