Carolina Panthers work out two offensive tackles, including ex-Giants starter Will Beatty

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said this week that backup Daryl Williams wasn’t pushing starting right tackle Mike Remmers sufficiently enough.

The Panthers brought in a couple of players Wednesday who might provide more of a push.

Former New York Giants tackle Will Beatty and ex-East Carolina offensive lineman Willie Smith worked out for the Panthers in Charlotte, according to league sources with knowledge of the visits.

The Panthers’ starting tackles are set with Michael Oher and Remmers, but backups David Foucault and Williams struggled through much of training camp and during the exhibition opener last week at Baltimore.
