An early season bye week is in the rearview mirror for Carolina Panthers players, coaches and fans, who took full advantage by healing, adding new personnel and enjoying a stress free week of football. Week 5 arrives as the Panthers return to Bank of America Stadium and host NFC East opponent, the New York Giants.
Carolina is 2-1, while New York is struggling under new coach Pat Shurmur at 1-3 just one-fourth of the way through his first season. Both teams need a win, the Giants to build some momentum before a short-week showdown against Philadelphia next Thursday night and Carolina to prove they can be contenders – winning the games they should.
