The Carolina Panthers put pen to paper on a new contract Monday. No, it wasn’t for a new head coach. However, it was for somebody whose story is both inspiring and interesting. Efe Obada and the Panthers agreed to a one-year extension. He was going to be an exclusive rights free agent in March, but it appears he is staying in Carolina.
He recorded 24 tackles in his second season in the National Football League. After recording two sacks in 2018, he was not able to add to his sack numbers in 2019. As some may recall, he earned Defensive Player of the Week honors following Carolina’s game against Cincinnati.
