It was an interesting day for the Carolina Panthers on Sunday as they completed several transactions. The team cut wide receiver Torrey Smith, cornerback Kevin Seymour, and running back Elijah Holyfield.
Smith is perhaps the most notable name from these cuts. He was hampered by injuries during his two-year tenure with the Carolina Panthers. He only recorded 17 receptions for 190 yards in 2018.
The wide receivers room for the Carolina Panthers is extremely deep. It makes sense that they would get rid of Smith for faster, younger wideouts. However, Smith could definitely be a valuable veteran presence for a team.
